When preparing your cost report, you don't have time to wait for calculation results. Using the HFS Medicare Cost Report software, you won't have to wait.

The HFS Medicare Cost Report software allows you to calculate most cost report files in under 60 seconds.

You can calculate your file at any time by simply clicking on the calculator icon on the toolbar under the main menu.

After calculating, a summary showing the number and type of errors is displayed. You can print the error report by clicking on the Print Errors button, or you can view the errors on the screen by clicking on the View Errors button. Also, you can view these errors again at any time without recalculating; simply select the Error Report command from the View menu on the main menu bar.

When viewing the errors, we tell you where the error occurred by giving you the worksheet, line, column, provider type and program title (if applicable) for each error. In addition, we provide a brief description of the error (with detailed cost report information where applicable) and a more in depth description for Level I and Level II errors.

Calculating the cost report provides you with all known calculation errors. The software does not stop on one error, only to find another error after you have cleared the previous error. Knowing all of the errors at one time allows you to correct as many errors as you can before calculating the cost report again.
